No Wind Kiteboarding
I thought about chucking this footage away because it was shot on a stupidly low wind day but instead created this quick edit!

Team Haero - Kite Landboarding
Переглядів 3479 місяців тому
Join me for my second session testing out the production version of the Haero Kitebro 89... it was quite the session! I made the most of the day, taking advantage of rails, ramps and obstacles. This is what landboarding is all about! A big thanks to @DavidUrsell, @AJPhilipsen, Daniel Copeland and @Krisbeechify filming, helping with the set up of the rails and ramps and for always pushing the sp...

The brand new landboard deck from Haero is truly exceptional! We collaborated to create the ultimate deck. This video is from my first session on the production version of the deck. While the shape of the new Haero landboard deck may seem familiar, there are notable differences that make it the best shape I've ever experienced. Immediately noticeable are the wider feet areas and concave under f...
Landboarding in Norfolk

A very different edit to my usual self shot/trick heavy videos... I filmed this a few months ago with a company called Brave Spark (bravespark.com/). The original edit was used for a promotion and contained some voice overs and graphics. Brave Spark were kind enough to share a copy without these so I could upload it to my channel. The riding was shot at two local spots in some challenging condi...

Riding the 12m Soul 2 from Flysurfer Kiteboarding for the first time, on the water at Brancaster. I felt a little rusty on the water as I haven't rode that much this year but what a kite! Onboard Session - Landboarding - Lewis Wilby

Onboard the 12m Flysurfer Soul for a session at Brancaster. The wind was on the light side for the 12m so I spent the time practising some board off variations that I hadn't tried in a few years such as the Kickflip Fingerflip and Wrap Around. Skate Park Kiteboarding
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 роки тому
I've been wanting to ride a skatepark with a kite for many years and conditions finally allowed it to happen! I spent most of the session on my skateboard (with kite) because it was not quite enough wind for the landboard. I also think I could have rode better with a smaller kite as this would have allowed for quicker turns on the quarter pipe. It was definitely not easy to line up tricks corre...

After Work Landboarding

Not all sessions go to plan! After a handful of jumps, my aging bindings decided they had enough of staying together. My landboard session almost ended but luckily I had some spare lines which I managed to use to tie the bindings back down again (you can't miss the yellow line in the helmet camera shots). The session eventually turned out pretty good and this video is the result of a few hours ...

🙃 wind jumping
Watching you makes me want to go kiteing so bad i could almost quit my job and go flying 😅
Yes boss 🤘🤘, more of this soon 👊
looks so warm!!!!
It was mate! Thanks for filming in July 😅
Hi, what windspeed and what device are you use to measure the wind?
Sorry this video / session was a few years ago so I am not 100% sure what the wind speed was (at most I can guess around 20mph) I also don't use any devices to measure the wind speed other than looking back at wind stats online, guessing based on the wind forecasts and using previous experiences.
just broke 2 bones in my foot doing this, the straps is what makes this dangerous, next time ill unfasten straps. ua-cam.com/video/ByV9qy7L_Ig/v-deo.html
awesome session.. what size kite were you flying that day and how windy was it? I still have my Trampa Kite deck in the shed.. how would this board compare. All the best my friend Brendan
Hi Brendan! The session was a long time ago now but I was on the 18m in about 12mph from what I remember. I am very underpowered in this video. In terms of how it comes to a Trampa... Both boards are very different. The Haero is low to the ground with a mix of concave in different directions (in my eyes giving you a much better feel and connection) whereas the Trampa is high from the ground with only concave in one direction. Both boards are bullet proof... You'd do well to break either. They just have different approaches to solving this. Weight wise the Haero deck is the same as a 11 ply HolyPro (the smallest Trampa) but is a much stiffer board (I'd have to ask a Trampa rider to compare). Both Kris and Dave have left the Trampa team to ride the new Haero board. There is also a kids version which is even lighter and probably stiff enough for an adult if you like a flexible deck. Check out the Haero release video for more information: ua-cam.com/video/R6OMmW55shs/v-deo.html
Nice deck and skills ! Looking forward to test it with my large shoes... :)
Would you usually have issues riding smaller boards? There are some extra stance options on this board which means you can move your feet inwards away from the wheels (obviously you'd have a shorter stance though) Another thing that helps is the wider feet area so it may be a little more comfy too.
Hot start is the best I’ve ever seen.
Will visit Norfolk in may and will definitely bring my landlord and kite with me. Maybe will meet on the beach if the wind will be there :)
Hy..what kite size ? You could kiteloop a 12 soul V2 ?
This video is the 12m. I wouldn't think a proper kiteloop on the 12m is a good idea but you can downloop the kite easily (as per the video).
Where is this
Brancaster in the UK.
How many spots in uk mate, could you share some i know only weston super mare
@@martinpetrov8801 not many spots my way but there are a lot in the South West, West and Wales coast lines. Westward Ho, Gwithian, Pembrey, Pendine are some of the better spots.
Thanks for the Video. Please keep us updated. What was the wind conditions? Board size? weight? I am thinking on getting me on Soul.
Hi Roy, I can't remember what wind strength as it was a month or so ago now. I'd guess around 20mph. I was riding a 137 board and weigh around 90kg. The 12m Soul 2 is a great kite but try one first if you can :)
love it
Watching this video makes me want to be a better person lol.
Cool video a bit different to your normal style but still great 👍 need some more flying in the next one 🤘
Nice filming and editing 👌🏽🎬
Thanks mate. Definitely not the usual edit from me!
Mate stepping up the production levels...
Haha thanks. Definitely not my doing but was nice to be involved despite the horrid conditions.
Nice mate
Thanks for watching :)
@@lewiswilby always )
Just sublime 👍👌👏👏 I have to try some of the board off spins😳🤘
Why not! You got a big enough kite for it!
@@lewiswilby just lack a bit in the skills department 😉 when I come over you can teach me 🤘
@@dawinczi21 sounds good to me!
Epic stuff
Looking so good 😳 now I need to try the same 🤘
Nice to meet you earlier today! How was your session?
@@lewiswilby the wind got a lot better later and I had an excellent time. Your spot was a good call I have to come over earlier next time 🤘
@@dawinczi21 I mainly went over there because there were so many people through the other parts of the beaches. You'll have to give me a shout if you go back to Brancaster soon.
Inspiring 😳 as always looks amazing 👌you sir make me want to go flying every time I see your videos 👏👏
This looks so cool! - I have got all my gear and I’ve got a spot as well. By the way - I was so inspired by you that I bought all the equipment and got lessons! Thank you so much for posting and now I have found my new favourite sport!
That's great to hear! Have you had the lessons yet? You'll have to let me know how you get on!
Epic video! makes me want a big kite again...... time to buy a soul!
Where's the other 58minutes?
Cut out of the edit... Riding around, setting up, setting up the camera or crashing! 😆
@@lewiswilby show us an uncut session
great jumps and tricks, keep shredding dude
@@TubeNelito I could show you an uncut edit but you'd be watching a tonne of riding without tricks and quite a few crashes (if I am trying new tricks). I could easily ride an hour and not crash if I kept it fairly basic (not trying new tricks)
Fantastic !!!! Love your work
Sweet! Where are you? (Colorado here)
Video was filmed in Brancaster in the UK.
Clever
Super stylish haha !
Cheers Lolo!
And I thought i was the only one !! So much fun!!
It was fun! Took me a while to get used to it... Not easy timing the kite with the ramp transitions.

@@kiteaust nice video!
That’s so cool! Your great at what you do :-)
Cheers Jack! Glad you enjoyed the video. Maybe don't try this one just yet 😜
Oh that looks like a great laugh!!
It was great fun! Not the easiest though. Took me a while to time the kite movement and ramp transitions so I could flow around the park.
Please could you do a video showing how you set everything up? That would be awesome! :)
As in how I set up before each session or about my gear and set up?
@@lewiswilby yeah, like how you set everything up before each session. It would be great 😊- I’m getting into it so would be great to see how other people get set up.
That's exactly what I tell everyone !! Here where I live it's amazing for landboarding fantastic locations all over the place and good wind all year. But I'm the only one landboarding
Not many people ride near me either to be fair. I'm sure the cost of the gear puts people off but most people don't realise how cheap it can be done too.
Most kitesurfer just don't get it
Agreed. Such little effort to get out on land compared to water! I enjoyed your interview some time back with kitesurf365 and how you mentioned landkiting a lot.
@@lewiswilby it's crazy how all iko trained kitesurfers are absolutely shit scared of landboarding. Well almost all. No! All! :-)
@@kiteaust I hurt myself more on the water than I do on land. I think you do have to adapt on land though to be safer (you can't really get away with not being able to control your kite)
Shredding! What kite you running bro
damn smooth !
Sick mate!
Idk why
Omg the beginning when you jumped I love it
Good to see you back jumping hiiiiiigh ! :D
Cheers Simon! Great to be back out. Fingers crossed for more sessions soon.
great spot
It really is! Pretty awesome for water too (although way to cold for you)
@@lewiswilby haha that's the truth
It was hailing yesterday just before I went out. There were a few kiters who braved the water yesterday at the same spot.
my favourite trick (not that I can do it) is a board off when you spin the board around
Great trick choice! A finger flip or Board Varial (some kitesurfers call it a TicTac)?
@@lewiswilby we're not very good at landboarding but we have got a video: ua-cam.com/video/LBUJ9cpnCGs/v-deo.html
Awesome dude. Love the skillz
Thanks Tom!
That first trick is epic xx
Thanks mate! Reminds me of the tricks you would do on the Tony Hawk's game.
Epic!! 🤘👍 nice to see some new combo's
Would love to visit that beach one day :)
It's a lovely spot when the conditions are right (works in a northerly wind). There are many other places better for kiting though.
Still looking good 👍
Thank you mate! Looking forward to some more winter sessions!
@@lewiswilby me and Dan are going to try and dodge the rain 🌧 tomorrow if you'd like to join us, it doesn't look like a good day to bunk work though! 😄
@@DavidUrsell I'd love too but got to work tomorrow.
Did you make that ramp? If not where can i get one, cool vid, great editing..
I did not make the ramp. I bought it from skatehut although I believe it can be found cheaper www.skatehut.co.uk/skateboards/ramps/graw-jump-ramps-g35-ramp.htm
